The 19th-century esotericist, poet, and ceremonial magus Eliphas Levi called magic “the traditional science of the secrets of Nature which has been transmitted to us from the Magi.” Immediately following Levi, British occultist and mountaineer Aleister Crowley defined magic as "the art and science of causing change to occur in conformity with the will." Across centuries, practitioners have sought to influence forces beyond ordinary perception, and they left behind extraordinary written records of their methods.
This tour opens some of the most precious magical volumes in the BPH Collection: Magia Vera (True Magic, 18th century), Clavicula Solomonis (Key of Solomon, 17th century), Sefer Yetzirah (Book of Formation, 17th century), and others rarely displayed. Your guide will place each work in its historical and philosophical context, revealing not just what these texts contain, but the worldview that made them possible.
