About

English summary: A study of the life and work of the highly influential gnostic Christian Valentinus (c.100-160). With a translation of Valentinus’ Evangelium Veritatis and the Letter to Flora by Ptolemaeus, a disciple of Valentinus. Quispel also discusses an evocative early 16th-century woodcut portraying the gnostic system according to Ptolemaeus.
