Source Library: An Evening of Introductions

Source Library Beta Launch, Embassy of the Free Mind, 2026.

The Embassy of the Free Mind will open its doors to AI Week Summit participants for an evening of introductions and connection. We'll introduce Source Library, our initiative using AI to make the Embassy's collection of Hermetic, alchemical, and esoteric texts more accessible and searchable. Among a short intro and a live demo of Source Library in action, there will be drinks in the historic surroundings of the House With the Heads, on Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht. A chance for us to meet the AI Week community, and for you to discover what's inside one of the world’s most unusual libraries.

About the Host

Derek Lomas is a tenured professor of Positive AI at TU Delft, where he bridges human-centered design with artificial intelligence. A cofounder of Playpower Labs, and founder of Source Library, and a researcher whose work spans learning, wellbeing, and beauty, he has led LLM design workshops for companies like IKEA and taught hundreds of students and educators. He holds a PhD from Carnegie Mellon, an MFA from UC San Diego, and a BA in Cognitive Science from Yale, where he was taught by philosopher Nick Bostrom. His published research on harmony and the science of vibes makes him a fitting guide for an evening at the intersection of ancient knowledge and emerging technology.

House with the Heads
Keizersgracht 123, 1015 CJ Amsterdam

Public Transport

A fifteen-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Prefer public transport? Take trams 13 or 17, or bus 170, 172, or 174 to the Westermarkt stop. From there, walk back a short distance, turn left onto Keizersgracht, and you will find us on your right after 300 meters.

Bike

Amsterdam is best explored on two wheels, and the EFM is no exception. Ample bike parking is available along the Keizersgracht.
